A Message from Dr. Loften Cooke,
On behalf of myself and the staff at Forest Street School, I am happy to welcome you to the Forest Street Community School! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference to your child's education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children's success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she:
Students can enter the building at 7:30 a.m. to participate in the breakfast program or by 8:25 a.m. before the first bell. Dismissal for Pre-Kindergarten through seventh grade will be at 3:00 p.m. Identified kindergarten through seventh-grade students will be invited to participate in our mandatory Project Achieve program. This program is an academic-based program that will provide targeted instruction in English Language Arts and Mathematics. There will be a sibling class for students who are not identified for the Project Achieve Program, but their siblings will be attending. Additionally, we will have a host of clubs available for students at all grade levels.
Please consider joining our school PTO as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school's program and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with many of our school-wide events; student recognition events; outreach and recruitment of parent and community volunteers. We welcome any new ideas and suggestions that you feel would benefit all of our children at Forest Street Community School.
Sincerely,
Dr. Loften Cooke, Principal
